Long Term Care Insurance
Even though Long Term Care Insurance is considered a form of health insurance, the coverage it provides is completely different from that of a traditional HMO plan. This type of policy is designed to assist with a broad range of medical, social and personal services, for those unable to perform certain activities of daily living over an extended period of time, due to a cognitive or physical impairment.
Long-term care insurance provides protection to help cover the costs of long-term care services, many of which are not covered by Medicare or other traditional health insurance. Modern LTC policies offer health care consumers more choices and flexibility in the benefits and care options allowed.
